Epidemic of fractures during a period of snow and ice: has anything changed 33 years on?

As a trauma surgeon, Mr. Williams has an interest in how adverse weather conditions may influence the number of orthopaedic fractures seen in the Emergency Department (ED) and if the situation has improved over recent decades. Therefore, Mr. Williams set up a  research project to give insight into how trauma demand may have changed within the same ED during periods of snow and icy weather. The findings of this project are published in the BMJ Open Journal.
